my heart ached for a simple touch; a graze of his skin next to mine. I knew it would be in passing, but that didn't matter to me. I needed the human contact to continue with life. I watched carefully as he approached, unaware of my existence in his extraordinary world.
I held my breathe as the moment grew closer and closing my eyes, I felt the pressure on my back. Opening my eyes I was suddenly moving forward because of the crowd rushing toward the open doors.
The warmth of his body overwhelmed me as I was searching for balance. He reached for my arm and I felt more than a graze. The touch was warm and welcoming. I eased my eyes upward, following his chest, neck, lips and I gave him a slight smile. I wanted to believe his returning smile was genuine and he cared that my stumbling into him was completely accidental.
"Are you okay?" he whispered as he held my hand. I simply nodded, not finding the words I longed to say. "Be careful", he continued with a smile "The morning rush can be deadly."
I noticed he was still holding my hand and gazing at me with his deep brown eyes. I was in my world. I was having my moment in the daily hardships of life and I enjoyed every second. I knew it would end as soon as it began, but that moment would be forever as my first and maybe only contact with him.
